Hi guys, this could be a question of a more general term, but as it seems to be a constant event, I thought i would try and explain the small complexity of some of these starts.
We start a lot of races at 8 pm yes ? Why , when the wind update is at 19:5x
Because it means to program your course correctly, you have to think forward to the 12 hour update. Which actually occurs within 10 minutes !!
Why not start an hour after the wind update. Or do not open the course 2 hrs before start. Let sailors programe their starts at any time after a race is published. Some are either in different time zones, or out at work well before the 2 hour starting period.
Allowing sailors to test a course before a 2 hour start period really serves no purpose at all. It would be more beneficial to all, to allow programming when they want.
