merci pour la chronique, fin de course tout en suspens pour Blz et moi, vraiment plaisant,, ;)
vous êtes les bienvenus

Bonjour à tous - Good morning all,
Tuesday 6th Oct

Different wind forces at play, will show some subtle movement of boats around each other. An inch on the map can be 200 miles, as i zoom in a little to see who has gained/lost. Of the centre group, Petibato (10) & blzblz (11) have a lead of possibly 500 miles over Bachibouzouk (13), who has a lead of 200 miles over ankez (17). The remainder of the centre group are spaced North to South, some trying to undercut to the South with better wind. Those that were far behind, have caught up, and from here on in, could depend on who judges the circling wind systems better.
Very tight with the lead group and the 2nd to 5th places.

I thank i will have to start my ascent from the murky Southern ocean at the wind change this evening; as i start to slow my gain towards the finish.
It has been a nice ride most of the way, and will be interesting to see where i "pop out" among the centre group.
OFNI & Garfield will surprise some boats from the centre group i think as they approach in good wind.

Good morning,
I missed a day out, but not to worry, still planty of sailing going on. A good win for Padigun, who was not really going to be overhauled.
Positions 2 - 5, were all up for grabs; and just an hour and 10 minutes separated them. ( hard luck Frank, but a top 5 is no mean feat).

Petibato did make the top 10, followed in by blzblz 30 minutes later. ( another close race).

Everyone else is still on the water.
As you can see, the 2nd of the Northern groups with Hello Boy & Vanna continue to close on the finish; but bachibouzouk and possibly ankez have intercepted them as they approach from the centre.
Some of those who were in the centre, now approach from more South, mezzo & carambar will finish strongly.
There are a few from the centre group who caught up by sailing south of centre Rachmaninov, LeTrianglenoir, benoitsuomi, kerbisou, ixtapa, ghost vaiselle.
OFNI & Garfield have undercut quite a few, and may yet take more; from being quite off the pace to possibly top half.

I took a wrong course decision a few days before the finish which I could not correct while heading for the finish line.
But.....We learn as we go. Happy with 5th position. :)

Your southern course has turned out OK Glenn. Now 17. Some exciting finishes upcoming

Yes, my northern path doesn't look so good now, the wind is strong but close hauled on starboard tack is not the fastest way to sail. Still it looks like I'll lay the finish line on the one tack, I may even ease the sheets a wee bit near the finish.

Good show Frank !

The finsh line is within reach :) a delayed tactical choice, but the final Southern option stood me very well, thanks to the wind gods.
I was behind your group that included Vanna, John; so it did help vindicate the choice. I would have been well behind you had i not done so, i think.
So 17th was worth it; any top 20 is ok around here i think ;)
