Re: Welcome
Hi Stakk Green Dragon,
I seem to recall bumping into you a few years back on VR. You sailed there under an Aussie flag.
Anyhow, G'day!
Now I have to relearn how to sail with wind fixed within a square. Back to "tricotage" on the borders.
I'm going to miss Live Skipper.
Cheers,
John

Re: Welcome
Good afternoon all. In preparation for the unfortunate demise of my current Virtual game in LS, i have registered my boat Kingfisher829, and look forward to sailing with you. How to operate the controls has been a challenge for a day, and also how the squares work with the wind
I am sure other English speakers will eventually join the game & forum.

Re: Welcome
Hi Glenn,
Glad to see you here.
I discover here that Stakk is French, I always thought he was Australian as he sailed with an aussie ensign on VR.
I'm slowly getting used to the game with squares. But I like the scheduler.
Cheers,
John

Re: Welcome
Not that I can see, only their ranking when you click on them (number on the sail).

Re: Welcome
Hi Glenn,
No, it is not possible to see the other boats sail, heading and speed.

Re: Welcome
There is a way, but so complicated it's not worth it. When you click on a competitor, the game shows a track, in the cache or using the developer's tools of your browser, you can recover the points that drew the track, the last lat/lon being the value where the boat is, you then repeat the operation 10 minutes later and get the new value. Calculate the distance between the 2 points and multiply by 6, that was the speed 10 minutes ago.
