i was dropped by the pilot boat off the heel of italy i round the first gate and onto the finnish it did not validate the gate and did not give me a finnish
rounded the gate island clockwise
i think this must be a bug , also i was not making progress in standings and milage was going up not down
was only using for pratice anyway but for leg 2 i want to do complete

Yes, I was hit by the same bug. Gtlog (I think it was him) fixed it for me but definitely there was a pilot boat bug.

It may be that when droped out from the pilot boat after the Messine Straight Buoy, you did not had this first invisible gate validated, thus the second one at Vis (on the game, the real first one) could not be validated, same for the finish line.

I think we improved a bit the pilot boat drop last days, and it should take more care of validating the gates the pilot boat already passed through.

It's always better to be present at the real start of the race than jumping out of the pilot boat.
If not possible, and thus jumping from the pilot boat, the players must take care that all the gates already passed are validated. If not, please drop us a message and we'll fix it.

The "invisible" gate at the Messine Straight, that must have been set between the Messine Straight and Tunisia, was set to have a decent ranking. This happen on all races where the route is very far from a straight line.

when the pilot boat dropped me it did face me back toward spain direction, i looked at next mark and headed that way .
i missed the start as i hadnt long signed up to RG and then i didnt have a clue anyway.
