Team challenge

At the beginning of 2020 Fred, wineblood, will once again schedule the race of the Carnival cities which took place from February to June 2019 on 6 legs with an Imoca 60. The start date of the first leg should be positioned at the end of January 2020.

On this occasion we thought to add to this leg race a challenge by teams.

This idea of a team challenge is an old RG project and Gégé, gtlog, in particular, was the precursor at VR.

For us the term team does not necessarily mean BPT, LLH or other BDBB. It can be an opportunity to meet in an ephemeral team or from any structure or a simple desire to participate in a different way, the usual approach is rather the individual race.

The formula we imagine is therefore a competition of teams bringing together each three boats minimum and four boats maximum.
Without going into detail, for the moment, the ranking would be at each leg on the top three boats of each team with a cumulative overall ranking where we could count a leg joker. Replacements will also be provided.

Still in the novelties, it is envisaged to change the type of boat depending on the length of the legs, in order to boost the race and its challenge a little bit.

Sounds interesting enough to try it out.
I understand, that you have to sail only you own boat, where only results of individual boats are calculated to the kind of club score .
My only condition is to bring the Famous Grouse into Paradise
