Yes Frank, I'm still only doing a wee bit of maintenance inside as November is a very blowy month and not very settled, but next week I'll be sailing for sure. At least, there is no Covid-19 at all in Victoria. No new cases for the last 18 days.Coromandel a écrit : ↑17 nov. 2020 13:12Should be great to go out sailing again John after all this confinement shit. Here in Portugal and the rest of Europe there will be no relief for a while.
I'm keeping myself busy at the moment spraying about 20 pine trees in the garden. This, in order to prevent the procession caterpillar from spreading. These pests can give you serious skin problems if you come into contact with them. Don't know if you have them in OZ.
Too bad that there are only a few EF sailors participating in one of the top races. It takes away some of the excitement. I somehow don't think this Vendée Globe Bar is going to last the race.
Hmm! It's not that I want to doubt it but having seen the cracks of the beam in one of his videos, I doubt that he could mend them. I certainly don't think his repairs are as good as the original design, and that fatigued in waters that are well short of the worse he has yet to meet. I don't think he'll be able to go as fast as he would like.
Yes, I'm sorry to hear that as he was my favorite and he is a good sailor. I'm not surprised though, one rudder out and repairs that I would not trust to the longitudinal beam, I think giving up is the wise choice.
